NZ Farmer - Federated Farmers voice concerns over Labour water levy but expect the party to be 'pragmatic'

Farmers are tired of being treated like a "political football" when it comes to the election, amid uncertainty about the impacts of a potential change in government, the president of South Canterbury Federated Farmers says. 

The statement comes on the back of concerns from the business community about the flow-on effect of Labour's proposed water levy when it comes to South Canterbury's economy. 

South Canterbury Federated Farmers president Mark Adams said he believed some of the promises coming out from political parties were "not as informed as they could have been", and he expected if Labour did get into power they would be more "pragmatic" about water rules.
